I always dreamed of helping others. As a child I would sing and play the piano for my grandma and her friends, tell them funny jokes, make them small snacks and was fulfilled seeing the smiles that were brought to their faces. As time went by, I grew to love bringing those smiles and wanted to do something in life that did just that.
Working in the public sector the idea of, “how can I bring that smile and that energy to the world and the community?” weighed heavy on my mind. The idea of making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for individuals on skid row turned into the idea for an organization that would spark light in others --Lightwork.
Lightwork is a reminder to everyone that we have the capacity to make someone smile, to make someone feel loved. The golden rule of treating others the way we want to be treated. Lightwork is a reminder that we have love and light and our purpose is to share them.
Love and light always,
